Cybersonica AV Lab 08 participants Mike Blow, Ed Firth, Bruno Mathez, Gavin Morris, Barry Murphy, Shaun O’Conner, Kristi VC and Sabine Vogel took part in the first Future Of Sound 08-09 Tour event at the De La Warr Pavilion, Marina, Bexhill on Sea, Sussex TN40 1DP.

The group attempted to realise a range of individual and collaborative ideas for interactive installations, impromptu performances and sound works inspired by a visit to the venue on the 6th November as part of the AV Lab 08 programme aiming “to set a challenge for the group to create some modest but considered site-specific work that could be included in the Future Of Sound showcase on 22nd November.”

In truth it was all a bit of a stretch and not all the proposed pieces quite came off – but the responses from both artists and audience were generally positive: “I felt a surprising amount of satisfaction from our installation and I’d definitely like to do something on that scale again.” Gavin Morris
